The Syrian revolution created space for ingenuity, for strikingly spontaneous and organised energies, and for many different forms of intellectual and artistic expression. This project’s goal is to collect all the forms of expression in existence during the revolution and the war, to document them and to make them accessible both through the website creativememory.org, and through publications and exhibitions. This is a work of contemporary history writing that is intended to share the realities and values of the revolution with future generations and with the world. In this context, the artist is first and foremost a citizen who resists and battles for freedom through his work. This exhibition displays a wide selection from this interesting project’s ever-expanding archive.
